I finished this one up pretty fast for how long it used to take me to do work. Only about 5 - 6 days, about 20 hours. I could have had it done faster if i didn't have to work every other day and keep up with my studies. But I can tell I've been getting faster since i started doing them in February.
I also managed to save out a half decent progress shot, hope blogger will let me keep the file big, it always seems to make my pictures smaller than I save them as.
Well, onto the next one! Hopefully something a tad more involved with a background and a monster or two! I'll post a working sketch when I get one worked up!

Super happy fun time art!
Whew, been awhile since I posted!
Took forever but I finished up that elf girl painting a bit ago and just hadn't gotten around to posting it on here. Still not much for making progress files so none for her, but I should have something for the next illo I almost have done!
That's just about the best Illo I've done to date, paint wise anyway. The pose and comp are pretty static but I was trying to focus more on getting a polished paint. I think I painted the thing about 3 different times! lol
In my last post I put up the drawing and b/w sketch if you're interested.
I haven't been updating even with studies because I've been trying to draw more on paper and work more on my fundamentals, and with out a scanner I can't really post those. But I did feel like getting back to the computer and painting studies was important so I did a still life last night/this morning. I need to do way more of these! I think this took me maybe 5 hours, all in photoshop, done mostly on a single layer.
