Been busy!

I've been super busy at work, and with my personal stuff. I felt like I was slacking a bit over the past week or so so I'm trying to kick up the work load a bit to compensate!  Here's a face study I did a few days ago. I always end up spending more than an hour or two on individual studies, this one I ended up spending closer to 3 or 4 on but I learned a good amount.  Also still plugging away on my next magic card piece, I had some trouble working out a good composition but I think I have in locked in so more to come on that in coming posts!

Didn't change a ton, but I got rid of that blur in the back on the books and darkened some stuff. Not sure how I feel about using too many photoshop tricks like blur and what not, makes the image look like shit honestly, more so than normal! Yay.

Bunch of studies and what not from this past 7 days or so. They're actually all from last a Thursday ago to this past Thursday but I've been too busy to post them up. I had hoped to get more done than this....buuuuuuuut, I'll be trying to get more done this up coming week.  I also did some traditional drawings for anatomy and what not, I feel like I get more out of those than drawing on the tablet, but I lack a proper scanner to post that stuff up!

FO-SHIZZE MY MAGIC FINGGIE!

Alrighty.

Finally, spent too many hours on this one! So this is the first in what I hope will be many illo's of me just redoing old Magic the Gathering card art, I chose magic since it's the card game I'm most familiar with. I used to play a ton, still have all my old cards and hope to one day get paid to do stuff like this!!

I included one of those progress shot things everyone likes. I'm not that great at making those, perhaps I added in too many steps. Anywho, enjoy, off to paint from life until my fingers fall off! Yay~!

Time flys!

Where did the time go?  It's already been about a week since I last posted!

I haven't been able to do as many studies as I wanted, I got caught up working on a personal peice and sorta reverted back to bad habits! BUT, back to drawing/painting from life in the upcoming week and beyond.

Below is a finished drawing for the personal piece, it's a re-design of the Magic the Gathering card "Browse".  On sunday I came up with the idea, rather than constantly thinking up original ideas for illos then going through all the work involved with that I decided to just thumbnail 20 - 30 magic cards that already exists and redesign the art for them.  That way i can do an illustration every couple of days.  For me it's a far easier way to learn from my studies with out having to constantly waste time coming up with ideas for things to draw. 

I'm almost done with the painting and I'll make sure to get that up when I can. Also below that is a painting of an old wrinkled mofo that I did over the weekend!

 Today marks the day Washington unanimously elected by Electoral College to his first term, becoming our first president in 1789!!

TOO MUCH SNOW.

Not sure I can feel my arms anymore from all the shoveling. It's supposed to be snowing again this Saturday.  I might not even have to wait that long! I think it actually started back up again tonight and is snowing MORE. All I want for my birthday is one of those driveway flame thrower things, great for melting snow in the winter and people in the summer.

Anyway here's my work from the past seven days, I started last Thursday with the 100 things, for the crimson daggers over at CGhub. (they are other places too) I didn't quite make it to 100 figures but maybe I can finish them up tomorrow!  I got sidetracked  thinking about all the stuff I needed to get better at drawing/painting. it only got worse after looking at algenpfleger's DA (he has the life drawing stuff posted from the past 2 years)  I was blown away.  I'm juts trying not to tap into the darkside....
